Thank you to the PTO officers (Tiffany Ruawdi, Erin McMackin, Meghan Green, and Whitney Hughes) and all of their parent members!  Due to their hard work in fundraising, several teachers were able to attend the American Montessori Society conference in Denver.  We all came back full of new ideas, and loved the opportunity to collaborate with other educators from around the world!

Huge congratulations to the inaugural SPMA Golf Team on their tied match in their 2nd game in school history!  We are so proud of this young team and their fast growth and success!

We are still looking for volunteers on Thursday and Sunday afternoon from 12:30-5:00! It is such a fun time down on the 10th fairway.   Please email to sign-up or write your name on the lobby board!

We will resume on Monday, April 2.  Also, there are only a few summer camp spaces left.  Don’t wait to fill out your forms: Preprimary Camp 2018    Primary & Elementary Camp 2018  We do offer an amazing Elementary Camp through 4th grade!

Join the PTO tomorrow morning at 8:30 am as they wrap up needs for this year and prepare for next year!  In particular, anyone who has interest in an officer position should try and attend.  Email for more information.  On behalf of all of the SPMA community, thank you to the PTO officers and their members for an incredible 8 months thus far!  They have played an integral role in our school community and we are so grateful!

FINAL CALL for players and sponsors!  Download your SPMA Golf Classic Forms and return them today.  Can’t play in a foursome that day?  You can still party with the Golf Classic Crew!  To reserve dinner tickets for the Open Bar, Steak & Shrimp dinner, and Auction, email

We are less than 3 weeks away from Heritage!  Please sign-up for a Concession Tent shift— the board is in the lobby.  This is the school’s largest fundraiser.  Not only do we raise a lot of money for our students, but we have the best view (10th fairway) and the most fun!  Email to reserve a shift.  Thank you to all of the families who have already signed up!

Distinction & Fun- what a way to kick off March!

Congratulations to the Junior Beta Club members and their club sponsor, Ms. Comeau (Upper El teacher), on being awarded the 2018 National Beta School of Merit status!  The club was honored due to the students’ experiences in leadership development and service involvement in addition to achievement in academic excellence.  Great job, Beta!

Sea Pines Montessori Academy is the only school on the island to be distinguished as an Eco-School through the National Wildlife Federation.  Students will be engaging in their environment by protecting it through problem-based learning and environmental education.  Look for more information on LEAF: Learning About Forests, WOW: Watersheds, Oceans, and Wetlands, and the GREEN HOUR to come.  We will be integrating studies in the classroom and in after school clubs.  If you’d like to participate in helping plan some of these activities, please email Melinda!
