Collection for the Bahamas

Dear SPMA Families,

Flyers listing collection information for Bahamas Hurricane Relief were sent home with each child today.  They also are posted below.  In addition to the items listed, we will have a jar for monetary donations.  Donated dollars will go towards shipping costs for all items.  We are working with a shipping company in Ft. Lauderdale that is donating all of their direct transportation costs to ship goods to the Bahamian Red Cross and NEMA for immediate distribution.  Depending on how many items are brought in, our shipping costs could range from $250-$500.  We are accepting donations through this Friday at 9:00 am, only, so that the students have an opportunity to pack and decorate the boxes and write/draw notes of encouragement, prayer, and sympathy.

Thank you for your support!  #islandtoisland

The governor has issued a mandatory evacuation [beginning at noon tomorrow, 9/2] of Beaufort County.

At this time, SPMA will be closed on Tuesday, September 3 through Friday, September 6.  It is quite possible that we will close for additional days, which will be decided after the Hurricane has passed and the school assessed.
