Fall News

There are so many exciting things happening in October and November! Check out the Head of School’s [now] quarterly Fall Newsletter to learn about school and PTO events, read an important message from Nurse Singer, and view our current Annual Fund status!  We are still a long way from our 100% participation goal, so don’t forget to make your pledge by clicking the Annual Fund link above.  Every little bit counts!  In addition to the events listed on the Newsletter, Señora Bibi is planning a fun, family evening for November 2.  Stay tuned for those details!

In lieu of Mrs. Cotter’s monthly newsletter, the Middle School started working on their own monthly publication.  We are so excited to see their first issue!  Mrs. Cotter’s newsletter will be distributed in October, January, March, and May.

Congratulations to our 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year: Ashley Schilling, Primary Teacher in the Blue Room!  Ashley will be recognized in a luncheon at Sea Pines Country Club this month for all of her hard work and spirit, including leading the new SPMA GATORS Spirit Squad!

Sign-up sheets for conferences will be placed in the lobby soon. Check out the newsletter for timing!

Congratulations to the Cross Country team for continuing to hit personal bests.  Led by Coach Dogger (Middle School Lead) and Coach Barton (Lower El Lead), they have witnessed some amazing sunrises, worked as a team, and practiced in, often, sweltering humidity.  It’s clearly paying off!  A special shout-out to Jeep Patrick (5th) and Joey Baird (9th) for their top 10 placements in last week’s Meet in the Forest Preserve!

Collection for the Bahamas

Dear SPMA Families,

Flyers listing collection information for Bahamas Hurricane Relief were sent home with each child today.  They also are posted below.  In addition to the items listed, we will have a jar for monetary donations.  Donated dollars will go towards shipping costs for all items.  We are working with a shipping company in Ft. Lauderdale that is donating all of their direct transportation costs to ship goods to the Bahamian Red Cross and NEMA for immediate distribution.  Depending on how many items are brought in, our shipping costs could range from $250-$500.  We are accepting donations through this Friday at 9:00 am, only, so that the students have an opportunity to pack and decorate the boxes and write/draw notes of encouragement, prayer, and sympathy.

Thank you for your support!  #islandtoisland
